Reactor 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is encapsulated inside this “sarcophagus”.

A rusty Lada 1500 estate in the zona, probably property of the Chernobylinterinform ministry. My parents used to drive the same, beige model.

Belgium is not unique with it’s set of absurd language regulations. Some bureaucrat thought it was necessary to change this sign from “Копачи“ (Russian) to “Копачi” (Ukrainian).
Why is this silly? This little suburb was literally burried by bulldozers twenty years ago since it was not deemed cost-effective to decontaminate (the village was less then five miles away from reactor 4). The sign is all that remains.

The famous abandoned ferris wheel on the Pripyat fairgrounds. There was going to be a big party here 1 may 1986, but unfortunately five days before reactor 4 exploded. This location was never decontaminated, it was used as a helipad during the building of the sarcophagus

A family (mom and puppies) of stray dogs running away from us near the Pripyat firehouse, inside the Chernobyl perimiter, Ukraine.
Notice how there are trucks stacked on top of that building. Why? No one knows.
